‘In Amber’

‘To be trapped in amber is to exist within a liminal space. Suspended in time, neither here nor there, the matter becomes intangible, only to be observed as a record of the past.’

In Amber, showed on the 23rd and 24th of October 2021, presenting six photographic artists working in the North-West. The work in show was created throughout the artists final year of study, at the height of the UK’s lockdowns. This resulted in an already turbulent time becoming further isolating. The artists in show couldn’t have their summer degree show which is a chance to gain exposure on their final body of work and have the experience of putting on a physical show.

In Amber was held at The Yard, Manchester. Re-using materials in order to build a rectangular structure placed in the centre of the room and hang works, the space was transformed into a temporary gallery.
