Paper Covers Stone
This ongoing body of work ‘Paper Covers Stone’ navigates the relationship between self and landscape through a process of unfolding. The images are made along a series of journeys, following paths and desire lines into lands bound with collective memories, encountering temporary sculptures and natural formations.
Traces, marks, scars and portals in the land hold personal histories which are uncovered by returning to places over time. Through this line of enquiry I am faced by the cyclical nature of time in these spaces. The process of recording gradual shifts in the landscape seek to uncover how we experience these spaces.
This work is being developed as part of my studies at Glasgow School of Art.
